Plusieurs clients nous demandent quelle est la différence entre une inspection et une soumission?
Vous avez besoin d'une inspection lorsque vous ne savez pas l'origine ou l'étendue du problème de qualité de l'air et lorsque vous voulez savoir d'un point de vue objectif ce que vous devez faire pour rectifier la situation.
Une inspection est réalisée par un inspecteur qui examine toutes les surfaces du logement, du bureau, de la maison ou de l'immeuble du client en prenant des mesures d'humidité relative de l'air, de moiteur des surfaces, en prenant des photos des observations pertinentes et en réalisant un interview avec le Client. Une inspection peut aussi comprendre la prise d'échantillons et l'analyse de ceux-cis. Suite à l'inspection il vous livrera un rapport dans lequel vous trouverez ses observations, ses résultats et ses recommendations pour restituer ou améliorer la qualité de l'air de votre immeuble. L'inspection est payante.
Vous avez besoin d'une soumission lorsque vous savez quel est le problème et que vous voulez engager un entrepreneur pour corriger la situation.
Une soumission est une visite par un technicien pour évaluer les travaux à effectuer et vous fournir une description et un prix . La soumission est gratuite si vous êtes dans la grande région du Montréal Métropolitain (couronne Nord et Sud comprise).
An inspection or a quote?
Several customers ask us what is the difference between an inspection and a quote?
You need an inspection when you do not know the origin or extent of the air quality problem and when you want to know from an objective point of view what you need to do to rectify the situation.
An inspection is carried out by an inspector who examines all the surfaces of the client's accommodation, office, house or building by taking measurements of relative air humidity, surface humidity, taking photos relevant observations and by conducting an interview with the Client. An inspection may also include taking samples and analyzing them. Following the inspection, he will deliver a report in which you will find his observations, results and recommendations for restoring or improving the air quality of your building. The inspection is chargeable.
You need a quote when you know what the problem is and want to hire a contractor to correct the situation.
A quote is a visit by a technician to assess the work to be done and provide you with a description and a price. The submission is free if you are in the greater Montreal area (North and South crown included).
Alexandre Legault has completed the Indoor Air Quality Investigator course of the CMHC in Toronto, multiple courses on mould and asbestos problems in buildings and an intensive course of instruction in Indoor Air Quality Fungal Spore Identification at the prestigious McCrone Research Institute in October 2014.

"We live in a house built in 1910 that had asbestos wrapped around the pipes in the furnace room and adjacent room that used to store coal. As well, the panels covering the ceilings and walls contained asbestos. The goal was to remove all the asbestos so that the rooms would be in compliance with all codes both for our own health and taking into account the future sale of the house and passing an inspection by a prospective purchaser. To complete the job, install fire retardant sheets where necessary.
I met with Alexandre Legault of LHB at our home to discuss what had to be done and the cost. He took measurements and, within two (2) days, provided me, for my review and acceptance, with a written quotation which set out in detail the scope of the work to be done and the cost.
The work was carried out in a clearly defined work zone, on time and in a professional manner by his personnel under the supervision of Mr. Legault. The entire work area and surrounding area was cleaned up, the contaminated material bagged and taken to a technical landfill, the remaining material removed during the course of executing the contract was removed to a municipal landfill.
